Privacy Policy
The short version
Your recordings are never stored. They are sent to Google's Gemini model, converted to a list, and discarded. We keep the list you get back, your email address, and a record of what you paid and used. We do not sell anything to anyone.
Your recordings
When you record a list, the audio is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing and is not written to disk by us at any point. We hold it in memory only for as long as the request takes, typically a few seconds.
We use Gemini on a paid tier. Google's terms for paid API use state that submitted data is not used to train their models. This matters enough that we pay for it rather than using the free tier, where the opposite is true.
What we do keep
- Your email address, name and profile picture, from Google when you sign in. We never see or store a password — there isn't one.
- The lists you save, so you can come back to them.
- Payment records — which pack you bought and when. Card details are handled entirely by Razorpay and never reach us.
- Usage records — how many credits each list cost. This is how your balance is calculated.
- Security logs — sign-ins, failed payments, blocked requests. These hold metadata only: never a recording, never the contents of a list.
Who else is involved
Four companies process data on our behalf, and no one else: Google (sign-in and the Gemini model), Supabase (our database, hosted in Mumbai), Razorpay (payments), and Vercel (hosting). We do not sell or share your data for advertising, and there are no analytics or tracking scripts on this site.
Where your data lives
Your account, lists and payment records are stored in India, in Supabase's Mumbai region. Audio is processed by Google and may be handled outside India during the seconds it takes to transcribe.
What you can ask for
Email support@bolnote.me to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account. We act within 7 days. Deleting your account removes your lists and profile; we keep the payment record itself, because tax law requires it.
Children
BolNote is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what happens to your data, we will email you before it takes effect.
